How to Setup mIRC and NoNameScript

This guide will tell you how to install and setup mIRC and NoNamScript software to connect to RTSnet IRC network.

NoNameScript 4.22 download - nnscript422.exe


Setup Guide for mIRC & NoNameScript

This guide is for #redalert3 channel but just change it to the channel you want.


Install mIRC 6.34 using mirc634.exe

- UNTICK "Automatically Check for Updates" on the Setup.

- Dont run mIRC when finished.


Install NoNameScript 4.22 from nnscript422.exe

- Click yes to download the latest servers.ini.


Run NoNameScript from "Launch NNScript" shortcut

- Do NOT update mIRC. Untick "Automatically Check for updates" on the mIRC Update window that pops up and click "Later".


Setup NoNameScript

- Go to "mIRC Options" using the second Icon on the menu.

- Set the Full Name, Email Address and Nickname, these can all be the same.

- Set Alternative to something similar to your Nickname. E.g. If your nick is Kane set Alternative to Kane2.


Add RTSnet IRC server to the list servers list

- Click Servers on the left then Add.

- Set Description to "RTSnet", IRC Server to "irc.rtsnet.org", Ports leave as "6667" and set Group to "RTSnet". Click Add.


Set auto join channel (chat room) for #rtsnet

- Go to Options under Servers. Click the Perform button. Click Add. Find "RTSnet" in the Network list box. Click OK.

- Add "/join #rtsnet" to the perform commands box. Tick "Enable perform on connect" and click OK. Click OK to close mIRC Options.


Set auto connect to network

- Go to NNScript on the menu then Setup. Select Favorite networks.

- Find "RTSnet" in the Avaiable networks list, select it and click the right arrow to add it to Favorite networks list.

- Select "RTSnet" on Favorite networks and tick "Connect at startup".

- Set Full Name, Email Address, Nickname and Alternative as before. Click Ok to close.


Close mIRC / NoNameScript and reload it from the shortcut to test its setup correctly

- You may have to unblock mIRC in your firewall now when it trys to connect for the first time.
